  • PromisePay is an online service that Atlanta Department of Watershed Management (DWM) has partnered with to offer interest-free, convenient, and flexible payment plans to help you pay off your total balance over time.

  • All residential and commercial customers who are not currently enrolled in an Atlanta DWM in-house payment plan are eligible for a PromisePay payment plan.

  • Atlanta DWM's goal is to ensure customers can comfortably manage their financial obligations while maintaining essential water services. PromisePay offers flexible options to help customers stay on track and avoid service interruption.

  • No. PromisePay payment plans are interest-free. Atlanta DWM does not charge late fees on PromisePay installment payments.

  • Yes. Transaction fees depend on your payment method:

    • ACH (bank transfer): $0.50 per transaction
    • Credit Card/Debit Card/Prepaid Debit Card or Apple Pay/Google Pay:
      • $3.00 per transaction for payments up to $150
      • 3.00% per transaction for payments greater than $150
  • Sign up in minutes with four easy steps:

    1. Go to atlantawatershed.promise-pay.com for PromisePay, and login using your account number, billing zip code, and last name or business name.
    2. Choose a plan that works for you. We offer a wide range of options.
    3. Make your first payment. We accept credit cards, debit cards, prepaid debit cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and bank transfers (ACH).
    4. Pay off your balance over time. We make it easy with automated monthly payments and reminders.
  • Customers without access to a credit/debit card or bank account may enroll with a prepaid debit card. These reloadable, prepaid cards can be purchased at your local grocery store and may be refilled and used for automatic payments. The card needs to be registered and funded before enrolling. Please note: these are not gift cards. Some cards have activation fees, so you will need to load enough to cover the card activation fee, the PromisePay plan payment amount, and the PromisePay payment transaction fee.

  • Yes. If you are responsible for directly paying the property's Atlanta DWM bill and meet eligibility requirements, you may enroll in a PromisePay plan.

  • Your payment plan covers your total balance as of the day you enroll. However, you must pay all new Atlanta DWM bills directly throughout the life of your PromisePay plan.

  • Please pay new bills you receive directly to Atlanta DWM. You must continue to pay your new bill charges directly to Atlanta DWM. Your agreed upon PromisePay plan payments must be paid to Promise.

  • PromisePay plans are designed to be flexible. If you are in good standing, you may:

    • Request a short extension for a single scheduled payment as long as the new date falls between the original payment date and your next scheduled payment date. The regular schedule resumes afterwards. No skipped payments allowed.
    • Change your recurring monthly payment date. This new date must be within 15 days of the original date.
    • Add a new Atlanta DWM bill to your PromisePay plan one time within the lifetime of your plan.
  • If you stay current on both your agreed-upon PromisePay plan payments AND pay all new water service charges directly to Atlanta DWM before the bill due date, you can avoid water service disconnection and subsequent reconnection fees.

  • Yes, if you sign up for a payment plan with PromisePay you may still be eligible for other financial assistance from Atlanta DWM. Please work directly with Atlanta DWM to determine if you are eligible for other programs.

    Atlanta Department of Watershed Management is currently shutting water services off for non-payment. Customers can avoid water service shut-offs by enrolling in a PromisePay plan online at atlantawatershed.promise-pay.com or by contacting a Promise agent at (678) 981-7336 to enroll. Once enrolled in a PromisePay plan, customers must keep up to date on their PromisePay plan and current Atlanta Department of Watershed Management bills to ensure their services are not disconnected.

  • Customers are notified of shutoffs via collection calls, billing notifications and the yellow and red tag cut process.

  • Customers who have had their water service disconnected due to lack of payment should take the following steps to have their service reconnected:

    1. Go to atlantawatershed.promise-pay.com or call Promise at (678) 981-7336 to begin the process.
    2. You must make a 50% down payment of your Atlanta DWM bill balance, and enroll the remainder in a PromisePay plan.
    3. After completing the down payment and enrolling your remaining balance in a PromisePay plan, please call Atlanta DWM directly at (404) 546-0311 to initiate the reconnection process. Please let the Atlanta DWM team know that you have completed the required down payment and enrolled your remaining balance in a PromisePay plan and that you would like to complete the reconnection process.
  • The bill is considered past due if the bill is not paid by the payment due date.
